Twenty Ninth Street is a new 60 acre mixed use project in Boulder, Co. Leonard Thomas was the architectural designer of this project (while at CommArts), with SEM Architects as architects of record. This project is roughly 850,000 s.f of retail and office space, and replaced the enclosed Crossroads Mall. This project is innovative and flexible to accommodate tenant needs.
Twenty Ninth Street is not a re-creation of an urban village but a design that embraces the tenants needs to take the center stage. Tenants such as Nordstrom Rack, the Apple Store, and Century Theater, and The Home Depot are primary tenants. This replaced a traditional enclosed mall with an outdoor retail main street feel.
This project also became the catalyst for additional urban infill around this site.
